Here we explain some key words from the area of alternative energies.
Biomass - energy supplier from regenerating raw materials - usually regionally produced (rapeseed oil, wood pellets etc.).
Combined heat and power unit - a plant to produce current or warmth from renewable energy sources.
CO2 - Greenhouse gas, which is created when burning fossil fuels for power production.
Degradation - age-related change of the solar cells - usually reduced efficiency.
Promotion - pollution free plants for power production are promoted by subsidies or the assignment of favorable credits.
Module - several solar cells are electrically hooked up and embedded and framed into particularly hardened glass.
Mono crystalline cells - silicon wafers with completely homogeneous crystal structure.
Adjusting - adjustment of the orientation of solar modules to the position of the sun.
Poly crystalline cells - also called multi-crystalline solar cells. Are usually manufactured in the casting process and have different crystal orientation.
Recycling - disassembly and re-use of the individual components of plants.
Silicon - most usual raw material for the production of solar cells.
Solar - the word for all energies, which come from light and sun.
Solar park - large number of hooked up modules for the commercial power generation.
Solar heat - use of solar power for the production of warmth.
Efficiency - theoretical calculated value for evaluation of how much energy from the sun can be used.
Cell - the cell transforms light energy into electricity.
